About Punashcha
Punashcha, meaning "once more" in Bengali, is a London-based school of Rabindra Sangeet founded and led by Shyamali, teaching in the Santiniketan style pioneered by Tagore himself. We bring the songs, poetry and musical philosophy of Rabindranath Tagore to students of all ages, both in person and remotely from anywhere in the world.
You do not need to speak Bengali, read music, or have any prior experience to begin. Under Shyamali's guidance, you will learn not just how to sing but how to understand, exploring the poetry, mood and heritage behind every song. Classical voice training is woven into every lesson, building a strong, well-supported voice alongside the music itself. Curiosity is the only requirement.
We welcome students of all backgrounds — no prior knowledge of Bengali or classical music is needed to begin this journey.

Workshops with Visiting Artists
Regular workshops are arranged with renowned local and international artists, giving students a rare chance to learn directly from visiting masters of the tradition.
Diploma & Advanced Diploma in Music
Diploma in Music (3 years) and Advanced Diploma in Music (a further 2 years), covering voice training, music theory and musical performance across Rabindra Sangeet, Hindustani Classical and Bengali music. Intensive, in-depth classes are held at two venues in London, with examinations conducted by external visiting experts.
