About this event
A Colourful Journey Through Indian Seasons and Festivals is a vibrant music and dance extravaganza that celebrates the rich cultural tapestry of India. Through dynamic performances, the show takes the audience on a sensory voyage across the country’s diverse seasons and festive traditions. Each segment blends classical, and contemporary styles, offering a captivating experience of India’s timeless harmony between nature, celebration, and artistic expression with songs by Rabindranath Tagore. Chandalika by Rabindranath Tagore is a poignant dance-drama that explores caste, identity, and spiritual awakening. It tells the story of Prakriti, a girl from an untouchable caste, who experiences a profound inner change when a Buddhist monk, Ananda, asks her for water— treating her as a human, not an outcast. This act stirs feelings of love and self-worth in Prakriti, leading her to challenge societal norms. Torn between desire and guilt, she ultimately chooses spiritual growth over possession, embracing the freedom of the soul.
